De-mystifying Oro-facial Pain for the Dental Practitioner
Oro-facial pain patients make most General Practitioners as well as Specialists cringe. However, caring for these unfortunate individuals can be personally rewarding and advantageous for the practice. With a basic understanding of different types of pain and how to differentiate them, most patients can be quickly and effectively diagnosed. This presentation will focus on the most common non-toothache pain conditions presenting to the GP. This session will review the basic physiology of pain, and offer a simplified practical approach to dealing with the patient who presents in pain.
