  • Dr. Adam Kaplan DDS, Dip. OMFS, FRCD(C)

    Dr. Adam Kaplan obtained his dental degree from the University of Western Ontario, and his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery degree from Washington Hospital Center/Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Kaplan is currently a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in the discipline of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

    Dr. Kaplan enjoys the full scope of surgery at his office on the Danforth called, Toronto East Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Kaplan also works as a clinical instructor at U of T, and has hospital privileges at Etobicoke General Hospital.

Course Description:

Part 1 of this lecture reviews key medical diseases/conditions in a practical fashion. It focuses on how these diseases impact your dental treatment and how you should modify your dental treatment to best care for your patients. Relevant medical emergencies will also be reviewed along with their management in the dental office.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand how to adjust or modify your treatment to better care for your patients with frequently encountered medical conditions.
  2. Become more comfortable with common medical emergencies and know the clear steps for their treatment and management in the dental office.
  3. Understand and identify what drugs should be avoided in which patients.
