    Dr. Vinay Bhide is a board-certified Periodontist who provides the full scope of surgical periodontal and dental implant therapy. In addition to conventional periodontal procedures such as pocket reduction and crown lengthening, Dr. Bhide has a special interest in esthetic and reconstructive periodontics, procedures including soft tissue grafting for correction of gingival recession, periodontal regeneration, and pre-prosthetic site development procedures such as alveolar ridge augmentation, maxillary sinus floor augmentation (both direct and indirect), and guided bone regeneration (GBR). Dr. Bhide earned his DDS from the University of Toronto in 2001, and subsequently completed a one-year internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. He completed his Master of Science and specialty training in periodontology at the University of Toronto in 2005. Dr. Bhide is an Examiner and Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Bhide is also a member of the International Team for Implantology (ITI). In addition to private practice, Dr. Bhide holds the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and is involved in didactic and clinical teaching of periodontics at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels. He has lectured nationally and internationally on various topics related to periodontology.

    Dr. David Chvartszaid [pronounced shwarts-zaid] is a double specialist in Prosthodontics and Periodontics with a history of professional leadership and a strong commitment to patient care. Dr. Chvartszaid is the director of the MSc/Specialty Program in Prosthodontics at the University of Toronto and is the dentist-in-chief at Baycrest Hospital. Dr. Chvartszaid is the associate editor of the Ontario Dentist journal, an examiner for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (RCDC) and National Dental Examining Board (NDEB), and the vice-president of the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada. At the international level, Dr. Chvartszaid serves as the scientific co-chair of the 2019 meeting of the International College of Prosthodontists in Amsterdam and as the reviewer for several international specialty journals.

    Dr. Chvartszaid’s education includes hospital residencies in New York city and dual specialty training at the University of Toronto where he also completed two master’s degrees. His research focuses on optimizing implant treatment outcomes. Dr. Chvartszaid lectures extensively nationally and internationally on various topics related to prosthodontics, periodontics, and implant dentistry. In the last few years, Dr. Chvartszaid has lectured in Chile, Czech Republic, Germany, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy, Kenya, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, and all across Canada and the US.

    Dr. Chvartszaid’s specialty practice successfully merges prosthodontic, implant surgical and periodontal approaches to address the patients’ needs. His diverse clinical practice includes patients from all over Canada with difficult-to-treat or difficult-to-diagnose dental challenges.

  • Dr. Karl Cuddy BSc, DDS, MD, MSc, FRCD(C)

    Dr. Karl Cuddy was raised in Burlington, and studied at McMaster University where he received his BSc prior to starting professional and graduate studies at Western University and the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry.  He completed his studies in dentistry and medicine, receiving DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) and MD (Doctor of Medicine) degrees.  Hospital-based residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was completed over 6 years through the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, London Health Sciences Center and St. Joseph’s Healthcare London.

    Additionally, Dr. Cuddy completed a MSC in Pathology, studying tumor markers in cysts and tumors of the jaws.

    Following residency, Dr. Cuddy furthered his training as a fellow in Advanced Craniomaxillofacial Surgery and Trauma through the Head and Neck Institute, Legacy Emanuel Medical Center and Portland Providence Medical Center in Portland, Oregon, USA.  In addition to providing patient care at The Davis Clinic for Oral and Facial Surgery, Dr. Cuddy works as an Assistant Professor and Director of Education and Maxillofacial Trauma at the University of Toronto with the graduate training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.  His research interests include the use of technology to improve patient outcomes in orthognathic and craniomaxillofacial reconstructive surgery, including for patients with defects and deformities acquired through trauma, congenital anomalies or tumours of the head and neck.

    Dr. Ivan Boras is a Dental Anesthesiologist with a primary focus on pediatrics.

    Dr. Boras earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery with Honors from the University of Toronto and underwent specialized anesthesiology training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Now, as the Division Head of Dental Anesthesiology at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, he oversees a skilled team committed to delivering exceptional care.
